Visiting Rio: Boutique Hotels

Lately there has been a whole push in Rio for boutique hotels. I've never stayed in any, but from the pictures, they do look adorable and totally worthwhile, even though most are a bit off the traditional beach path...

La Suite
Rua Jackson Figueiredo 501, Joá
I visited this hotel once, since this is where I'll be staying on my wedding night.
LOVED the scenery and the rooms, which are themed by colors.
View from La Suite's infinity pool

Gavéa Tropical
Rua Sergio Porto 85, Gávea
Gavéa Tropical's deck...
can you imagine eating breakfast while looking at the Christ statue and Lagoa?

La Maison
Rua Sergio Porto 58, Gávea
La Maison is managed by the same owners as La Suite.
La Maison: Surrounded by nature

Casa 32
Largo do Boticário 32, Cosme Velho
Really close to the cogwheel train to visit the Christ statue.
Peace and quiet at Casa 32

Relais Solar
Ladeira do Meireles 32, Santa Teresa
The entire house is also available for rent.

Mama Ruisa
Rua Santa Cristina 132, Santa Teresa
In a quaint, bohemian neighborhood
To die for: this is bedroom view at Mama Ruisa

Hotel de Santa Teresa
Rua Almirante Alexandrino 660, Santa Teresa
It's the only Relais & Châteaux in the city of Rio. Need I say more?!

Rio 180o
Rua Dr. Julio Otoni 254, Santa Teresa
Why 180o?
Because you'll get a panoramic view of Christ, the Sugarloaf and Guanabara Bay.
